Casual conversations for the intellectually curious
We’re a podcast that firmly believes everything’s better with brunch. Or sometimes wine.
Before the pandemic, With a Side of Knowledge was the show that invited scholars, makers, and professionals out to brunch for informal conversations about their work, and we look forward to being that show again one day. But for now, we’re recording remotely to maintain physical distancing. New episodes are released every other Thursday and are about 30 minutes long.
We also host a monthly live event series called Research Uncorked at Ironhand Winebar in South Bend—except for right now, when we’re doing that virtually, too. Just like the podcast, each event features an informal interview with a leading scholar or scientist.
Did we mention we love this job?
For this bonus pod, we’re combining two politically themed episodes we released earlier in 2020, one with Robert Costa of The Washington Post and the other with Bob Schmuhl of Notre Dame—who just happen to know a little bit about each other, as well.
Get a 29-second sneak peek (listen?) of our episode with Notre Dame Provost Marie Lynn Miranda before checking out the whole thing.
Episode 2.17: “On Football Rankings and Measuring Efficiency”—Brian Fremeau, FEI (May 30, 2019)
