One of our favorite things about doing this podcast is keeping up with our past guests on social media. And below is a great example why.

In this post from her Instagram, Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi, a member of Notre Dame’s English department and author of the PEN/Faulker Award-winning novel Call Me Zebra, shared a page from her forthcoming book Savage Tongues as she edited it.

Even reading just this one paragraph, it becomes clear that Azareen’s prose is as powerful as it is beautiful.

If you’d like to hear her talk more about her work—not to mention read from Call Me Zebra—make sure to check out episode 3.1, “On Exile, Literature, and Feeling Small Before the Page.”
