The idea behind this show is pretty simple: A university campus is a destination for all kinds of interesting people, so why not invite some of these folks out to brunch, where we’ll have an informal conversation about their work, and then we’ll turn those brunches into a podcast?

It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

In episode one, host Ted Fox talked with Jessica Payne, an associate professor of psychology at Notre Dame who directs the ND Sleep, Stress, and Memory Lab through the University’s Department of Psychology.

Jessica joined the Notre Dame faculty in 2009 after completing postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard and Harvard Medical School. During their conversation, she and Ted covered everything from the science of the power nap and a theory she developed about what might be going on when we dream to our evolving understanding of the relationship between sleep, stress, anxiety, and depression.
