In February and March 2021, Holden Thorp, editor-in-chief of the Science family of journals, took part in an online video series hosted by Notre Dame titled The State of Science.

We were lucky enough to be able to turn two of those events into episodes of the podcast, including the conversation between Holden and Provost Marie Lynn Miranda. And knowing Holden is a big jazz fan, she managed to sneak in a question about jazz records during their discussion of the pandemic and the scientific community’s response.

He in turn offered his recommended jazz listening list for beginners, which we’re happy to share with you here. Enjoy.
